About Us
Christ United is an interdenominational church founded by the Episcopal and Lutheran Churches, welcoming all people to experience the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
Christ United is a safe and nurturing environment for change and growth. We honor the diverse spiritual traditions of the Church with an openness to the Spirit and respect for the Word of God. We are committed to grassroots, laity-driven efforts, prayer and support. Christ United acknowledges the value and participation of everyone; young, new and old. We show compassion in efforts to relieve physical and spiritual suffering.
Worship
Sunday Morning Worship
Come as you are, whether that is in a suit and tie, or jeans and a t-shirt. Our worship encourages participation from everyone, from readings during the service, to responding to questions during the sermon, to sharing where God brought about the Faith Word of the Week in your life.
Wednesday Meditative Worship
The service begins with a centering meditation to relax our entire bodies. A story from the Bible will be read, often from the life of Jesus. Participants will be asked to imagine what they can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. Meditative music will be used throughout the service.

Wise Thoughts
-
It is okay to change, break, or eliminate some traditions.
-
Our Mission, Vision, Value statements are our guiding organizational principles.
-
The fewer rules and policies we have, the better.
-
We will err on the side of giving permission to innovative ministries, no matter how off-the-wall it may seem at the time.
-
It is better to innovate, take risks, make mistakes, and ask for forgiveness than it is to safeguard the status quo.
-
As we are comfortable, we will expand the ability to make on-the-spot decisions to everyone trying to live out their spiritual gifts.
-
It is better for buildings to be used than for them to be clean.
-
It is better to provide ministry than to have money in the bank.
-
Ministry should be provided to meet the needs of all ages based on what each age group, inside and outside the church, says will help them grow in their faith.
-
We want as few people making decisions and as many people in ministry as possible.
-
We will reassign our financial and human resources into those areas that have the most potential for the future health of this congregation.
-
We will continue to nurture and support the present membership of the church and continue to reach out to the un-churched.
-
The leadership will encourage and support bottom-up innovation, with a team approach.
-
If you see a problem, be a part of the solution.
-
If you are not moving forward you are already behind.
-
We are planting seeds, some will grow quickly, some will take years. But it’s still worth planting.
